White Chocolate Spritz Cookies

I'm still on a mission to encourage folks to use their cookie press for more than just Christmas cookies! Thought I'd use the red, white and blue M&M's to make a Spritz recipe that I've wanted to try for a while now, White Chocolate Spritz. This is a beautiful dough to work with, it came together perfectly and stuck to the cookie sheet with the first squeeze of the press. It makes a nice buttery cookie:@)
Treat the kids (big and small) to cookies on the 4th

White Chocolate Spritz
1 Foil wrapped 2 oz white chocolate baking bar-I used 2 oz of Ghirardelli white chips
3/4 C butter, softened
1/2 C sugar
1/2 tsp salt-I use salted butter and omit this
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 C A/P flour
Candy decorations or sprinkles Note: some M&M's will crack in the oven
  1. Melt white chocolate in microwave, stir and set aside.
  2. Beat butter, sugar and salt until creamy.
  3. Add egg and vanilla, mix.
  4. Add melted chocolate, mix.
  5. Gradually add in flour, mix till just incorporated.
  6. Place dough in cookie press.
  7. Press onto ungreased, not non-stick baking sheets and bake at 350 for approx 10 minutes.
  8. Cool on wire rack.
This is the cookie press I'm currently using.

These are also known as Merry Spritz Cookies, that recipe calls for Nestles Rainbow Morsels for decorating. I kinda remember them at the store, but don't think we can get them any more.

  18. Good morning Lynn, We are still in Texas but we are heading home this afternoon. First we are heading to Galveston to visit Shelia at Note Songs for lunch. That will get us home by tomorrow night.I am missing our cool mountains. It is HOT in Texas. Or mot to offend my Texas friends...Texas is hot... You can choose from this double meaning. Smiling here.

Last Christmas I couldn't find my cookie press and recently found it in the garage. What was I thinking? HA! Your cookies are beautiful and they would be awesome for when our grands are all here. Thanks for the recipe.
