I ♥ Crochet

I thought that was a cute title for these little hearts... The truth is, it's not coming to me as easily as I had hoped. God bless all you folks that say you do it watching TV, seems I'm always counting something and even paying attention the numbers don't come out right! If your Great Aunt Gertie (insert family/friend's name here) is willing to teach you-I encourage you to say thank you and take advantage of that!
The pattern for these cute little hearts can be found HERE. I just took a deep breath,
Googled 'magic circle' and hoped for the best. I'm pleased with it:@)

I have tried and ripped out several things using this red yarn... I'm bored with this red yarn.
What happens when I get bored?

Dish cloths have bad hair days...
AC Moore had this silly fringy yarn for $1 a ball, it's (obviously) not cotton
and I'm sure I'll regret it but at least it was something new to play with:@)

Have a happy day!

  1. Oh you have me laughing out loud with the bad hair day dish clothes! You have to do this for a while before it feels natural. I tried it when I was young and didn't stay with it, wish I had. I love your little red heart..........

  3. I love it, Lynnie! That little heart is so cute and the bad hair day dishcloth - so cute too. It at the crochet as I agree with Emily. I've been crocheting since I was a youngster. I feel comfortable with it but still sometimes the patterns just don't work for me! ;)

  5. My two grandmothers were crochet queens, and one of my aunts was too. I didn't inherit the gene, unfortunately. Or it disappeared somehow. I was better at learning things when I was much younger. I'm still plugging along, though. xo

  10. I love both of your projects! The fringed yarn is fun to use along with regular yarn to create a scarf, or other projects. Have a great weekend, Lynn, and happy crocheting!! Try googling the 5 1/2 hour afghan. It's easy and once you know the pattern, you really can sit in front of the TV. It takes me longer than that time, but you use a large crochet hook and it goes together rather quickly. We have a group of ladies that knit/crochet and donate blankets to The Samaritan Inn, an organization that helps homeless people get back on their feet.

  12. Boredom sparks creativity!! I agree 100% about how simple crochet seems for others, and NOT for me. I learned to knit (basic mind you), but crochet just doesn't click. I think that sparkle, fuzzy yarn looks cute around glove tops or hats...

  13. I love that little heart! I'm going to have to check out that pattern. I may even have to pick up some of that yarn if Joann's still has some left on sale. I'm likin' it!.

You could always use that fancy dishcloth as a potholder!

  14. I've wanted to learn how to crochet for years, but I've never tried. You have my hopes up, maybe this old dog CAN learn a new trick (crocheting).

  17. Thought of you today. Took a little day trip to Fredericksburg and stopped in the Pink Pig, Rebecca Rather's new restaurant and bakery. Oh, you and Earl would adore this place. Didn't think to take any photos, but will next time I go. Lots of pink goodies and of course pink pigs. '-)

  19. I popped over to see what appetizer type things you had for Super Bowl and killed two birds with one stone, because the next thing I was going to do was look for a heart pattern to try to crochet. So excited to see this! Your cornbread jalapenos look yummy too!

  20. Make it be a hot pad! I love it! I can crochet, but I have no idea what the stitch name is nor can I read a pattern. When I was 9 or 10, and 80+yo woman taught me how to make a granny square and that is the end of my know-how. You're doing great!
