Welcome April!

Hey everyone-I'm soooo ready to welcome April tomorrow! But I keep hearing the term "Nor'easter" being thrown around on the radio. Just Mother Nature's idea of an April Fools joke, I'm sure...

I decided to challenge myself to write an Acrostic Poem for the first day of each month, using the name of the month. I like this idea!

Here's a definition of Acrostic Poem I found on-line:
An acrostic poem is very easy to write. It can be about any subject. This kind of poem can be written in different ways, but the simplest form is to put the letters that spell your subject down the side of your page. When you have done this then you go back to each letter and think of a word, phrase or sentence that starts with that letter and describes your subject.

April
Answers weary winter prayers.
Pleasing rains and green grass.
Rejuvenates the spirit.
Illustrates the life cycle.
Leaves us lusting for May.
Have a happy day:@)

I love the poem, but Lynn, I have to say that little piggy with the red boots on upstages it terribly! How adorable.

How about another poem entitled, "Little Piggy With The Red Boots On".

I never see a pig now without thinking of you!

  37. Love your "ode" to spring! I also love your tablecloth in the previous post. Can you tell I'm catching up? When I flew home from R.I. yesterday, there was a lot of snow on the ground in PA and Ohio. We had good weather but heard it might "blow" later in the week.

    Best,
    Bonnie

  38. Hi from Frog Hollow Farm! I'm so glad that you liked my brunch menu. The strata was easy to make but might need a little more flavor - maybe more cheese and mustard? Let me know what you think if you get to try it out! Love that little piggy with the red boots - where do you find these wonderful things? I also really like your new monthly acrostic idea - very creative! Ciao, bella! xxoo
