This is a very fragrant bread, dill is a favorite here and we thought is was good!
I have a Breadman Plus machine and it's well over 15 years old, still works fine.
Anyone have a Zo? How do you like it if yes?
1 C milk, warm-I used 2%
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 Tblsp butter, softened
1/4 C dried minced onion
2 Tblsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 Tblsp dried parsley
1 Tblsp
3 1/2 C flour-They called for bread flour, I used A/P and subbed 1/2 C whole wheat
2 tsp yeast
- Add everything to your bread machine in the order recommended.
- I chose the setting for 2lb loaf, medium brown.
- Look at the dough at about 6 minutes to see if it needs more water. Just add a tsp at a time until it looks like a smooth ball of dough. I did have to add an extra 3 tsp of water.
Have a happy day:@)
oh, i wish i had scratch and sniff on this laptop!
ReplyDeleteOh, my Lord, Lynnie! You just kill me with all your recipes of this delicious looking food.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I used to get a dill rye bread that I just loved and haven't seen it around in awhile so I will definitely try this.
ReplyDeleteI got a Zo a few months ago at our local Thrift and have come to love it..still getting used to it though. When I first got it and followed the directions on the machine, it was 'not' very good. It would rise and then fall and have a deep dent in the top when finished. I was very disappointed until my daughter told me to get The Bread Lover's Bread Machine Cookbook and she recommends SAF yeast and adding Vital Wheat Gluten and now it makes a lovely loaf.
Thanks for the recipe. I too am looking forward to using the machine to have fresh homemade bread even in the summer! xo
Wow, finding a Zo at the thrift store is an amazing score! Enjoy:@)
DeleteYour bread looks so good, Lynn! My father-in-law used to make what he called "dilly bread."
ReplyDeleteYour bread looks pretty good, I tried a few times but mine is terrible it tastes alright but as hard as a rock .
ReplyDeleteMerle.....
My blogging friends are going to force me into getting a bread machine. This looks YUMMY!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Lynn, Thank heavens there is no room on the counter for a bread machine at my house, I would be in serious trouble :) Onion dill sounds like a wonderful combination!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a bread machine, and I have always thought I would like one. This looks delicious, and my younger daughter in particular would eat it right up.
ReplyDeleteI just gave my bread machine to my DIL who requires gluten free breads. It's so nice for her to make a quick loaf to share with my grandson. I have a yummy recipe that I will share with you, but I can almost smell this delicious bread. We are all about dill at our house too and it is a beautiful looking slice.
ReplyDeleteA bread machine... yes, I need one! :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Debbie
My husband got me a breadmachine ages ago and I took it out a few years ago and actually started using it. Mine is a Breadman and I love it because it is just like a crock pot for carbs! It doesn't heat up the kitchen and you get a nice warm loaf of bread when it is done. Might need to try this yummy recipe soon!! I always use bread flour or extra gluten if I am using regular flour. I am amazed that it turned out so great without it.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a delicious combination with the onion and the dill, Lynn! Your boys must bow before you when they walk through the door. xo
ReplyDeleteMy bread machine is ancient too but still keeps going. I think it is because I rarely bake in it. I think your dill bread loaf looks very tasty!
ReplyDeleteI am late to the bread machine bandwagon but I am loving it! What a delicious recipe.
