Mindless Ridged Dish Cloth Crochet Pattern

Here's a great Mindless Ridged Dish Cloth Pattern for those of us that tend to get a little... distracted... **Oh look, a Christmas cookie:@) Plan A was to follow a pattern called The Magic Cloth HERE but as these things tend to go, I veered off on my own. I love that after you chain 30 there are only two stitches to remember and one of them is a double crochet on each end.
You could add any kind of pretty border you'd like for a nice finishing touch too.
The author of The Wonder Cloth Pattern used a 'double stitch', I used a variation of that but only going into the top loop. DS=insert hook into top loop of next chain, yarn over and draw loop through (two on hook), insert hook into top loop of next chain, yarn over and draw loop through (three on hook), yarn over and pull through all three loops. Start your next stitch in the same hole as the last one.
One last pic trying to show you that there are raised ridges in this dish cloth...

I used cotton yarn and an H hook, mine turned out about 8" square.
Chain 30
*DS to end, DC in last hole to keep the cloth square.
CH 2, turn and repeat from * until desired length.

Here are a few more patterns:

They all work up fairly quickly and would be a welcome gift I'm sure!
Have a happy day:@)

  11. I love mindless patterns, Lynn. Who needs to do too much thinking around the holidays when we have so much else going on? The cloth turned out so pretty and I love the variegated yarn.

  18. P.S. You know you're over-extended when you forget to include the recipe on your blog post! Thanks for being an early reader and alerting me. Even after proofing it yesterday, I hadn't noticed! Happy weekend, Lynn!

  19. I love to crochet Lynn, but whenever I read any directions, my eyes cross! I guess I will get out a hook and give this stitch a try step by step, loving the ridge effect. I'm also trying to master the chevron pattern, have you tried that? I keep ripping it out because it doesn't look like the pictures :) Simple is best for me! I love the yarn you used, much too pretty for dish washing~
