Went Junkin'-Christmas In July!

Hit three thrift stores this morning and two were just starting "Christmas In July"-love that! I have a soft spot for animated ornaments and have quite a few for my tree, this little "Hop 'N Pop" bunny ornament plugs into twinkle lights and the popcorn does actually pop up! For 75¢ I couldn't leave it behind. I didn't get a great deal on the glass ball ornaments but grabbed them because I liked the 5 different colors, both shiny and satin and they are a size I don't have for my feather tree, so I'm happy I found them.

As for non-Christmas items, love this little cruet, couldn't pass the dots up! 25¢
All glass stopper, no plastic. Only wish they had it's mate too:@)

These napkins were too cute with their pretty, softly colored flowers. 25¢ each.
I did notice (when I got home) a "chocolate" stain on one of them, if you have any
tips for trying to see if I can get it out I'd love to hear!
Have a great day:@)

  5. While I don't like Christmas in the retail stores, I wouldn't pass up a good deal in a thrift store!

I love those napkins too. I would try Oxyclean. I swear by that stuff. I would either make a thick paste with some and put it on the stain itself for a while and/or make a strong solution of it and leave the napkin in it overnight. Susan at My Place to Yours also has some stuff on her sideboard (I think it's still there) that I have been dying to try. She swears by it. Hope you get it out!

  7. I am always envious of people who find good items like these at Thrift Stores for such little money, Lynn! I never seem to find good stuff, or it is never prices down very low.

A friend of mione likes to make a paste of cream of tartar to take out stains. Not sure how it works but she gets good results. Check this web page out:

  8. Or a paste of OxyClean Powder. I soak linens in hot water and Oxy and they come out just fine. I got a bunch of animated ornies like yours last year at a yard sale. I had never had any and boy they are fun.

  11. I really love that cruet. Thrift shops are a lot of fun. Especially if you go with a friend. Try Oxy-Clean that seems to get a lot of stains out for me.

  12. I've been using white vinegar on stains. It doesn't get all of them out but it's worked on various stains, plus I'm using it in the laundry as well instead of bleach which I use only occasionally now.
Like the napkins, very pretty, and love the cruet. Must be old.
