Gorgeous colors mimic the candy corn, I used Wilton Icing Colors Gel.
I used a checker board cake pan. The idea for the cake came from Wilton's site,
this is how their's looked, instructions here:
I think using yellow and orange Food Coloring Sprays for the icing coloring would be adorable too.
wondeful cake...you can do so much with this idea. want to dig in right now

ReplyDeleteLove it! That's one cute cake, and perfect for fall. :)
ReplyDeleteReally cute cake. Perfect for a cake walk for the fall fair next weekend.
ReplyDeleteSorta of a question here - I made a Elmo cake last Friday for my son's 14th b-day (his request!) and used Wiltons Christmas Red to color my fabulous Buttercream Frosting. This was my first time using Wilton icing color - it totaly changed the taste of the icing - it was NASTY! Does Wilton coloring always change the taste? Cake looked adorable, but it ended up being thrown in the trash! Just wondering if this has happen to you?
How can you prepare such a delicious looking cake with poor Earl missing? I do hope he gets home in time to have a piece.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Love it! Can't wait to try it. First I need to buy that pan. You should get a commission.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful presentation it makes! I've never used the checkerboard pan, but I just might have to give it a try after seeing your yummy looking cake. Great for the office party!
