Deviled Ham Dip!

Hi everyone! This week for my Personal PIGskin Challenge let's take a trip to "back in the day"! Deviled Ham Dip. Yep, we're talking about that little can wrapped in paper on the grocer's shelf.
Got mine at Walmart for about $1.24.
First let me say, this is not a "pretty" dip, we won't be seeing it on a magazine cover!
But it is tasty:@)
Deviled Ham Dip
1 C Sour Cream
1 (4.25 oz) Can of Deviled Ham
1 tsp prepared mustard
1/4 tsp celery salt (I did not have this, left it out)
1 Tblsp minced onion
1/4 tsp sugar
*1 Tblsp minced celery
*1/4 tsp dried dill
*minced dill pickle (I used 6 of the small gherkin type, add more if you'd like. I dried them well on a paper towel.)
~Mix all, chill, it is best to let this mingle for a few hours.
~Serve with crackers, potato chips or assorted veggies.

My notes:
  1. The original recipe is listed first, the items with the * are my additions.
  2. After I took this picture I packed it up and stopped for a bag of potato chips on my way back to the office-oh baby, that was good! Everyone really enjoyed it. It would be great with celery too.
  3. I'd say this is different and worth a try!
Hope you love it if you try it:@)

Today I'm thankful for a day off from work tomorrow! Woo-Hoo!

  2. My hubby's grandmother used to make deviled ham dip all the time. I really miss her now that she's gone, but posts like this remind me of how wonderful she was. Thanks for the flashback!! Happy FF.

  7. I was always intrigued by the cute paper wrapping on Deviled Ham. I am such a sucker for dips. Maybe it is the sour cream/cream cheese bases, the salty goodness of the dips and the dippers, and the good olf fat, I don't know but I haven't met a dip I didn't like.

  15. I find this fascinating because it was certainly a blast from my childhood. I didn't even know that product was still around. My mom used to make us sandwiches out of deviled ham and I can't even remember what it tastes like now, it's been so long.
