My Little Dipper will eventually come to a boil. So I chose to remove the lid and stir every 45 minutes.
This did a good job of controlling the temperature so that it didn't begin to bubble/boil until the last 15 minutes.
I'll list my small batch recipe, you can click on Slow Cooking Perfected for the larger, regular size recipe.
1/4 C long grain rice
1 1/3 C milk-I used Half and Half
2 Tblsp sugar
1/3 tsp cinnamon-just estimate
1/3 tsp vanilla extract-just estimate
2 tsp butter
handful of raisins, optional-I used golden raisins this time
- Rinse rice under running water for a couple minutes, drain.
- Add everything to slow cooker and stir.
- Cover and cook for approximately 2.5 hours. I set a timer and stirred it everyt 45 minutes.
- Stir and serve.
Eat well and have a happy day:@)
I may make this and try to use Stevia! I love rice and tapioca pudding! Happy day!

ReplyDeleteThis sounds so good Lynn. I'm going to make it for a friend that is recovering from surgery and can't do much cooking. xo
