Grated Parmesan and Fresh Cracked Pepper Popcorn

Hey everyone! Why haven't I made this before??? I had a craving for a munchie and popcorn sounded good. My normal sprinkle-ons would be salt, Lawry's Cracked Pepper Seasoned Salt, or Emeril's Essence, all very good... I decided to break out the Parmesan/Reggiano and added some fresh cracked black pepper this time.
It's almost too easy! Make popcorn (I used an air popper), grate the cheese using a microplane zester, set the pepper grinder a little coarser and give it a couple turns, and finally add a sprinkle of kosher salt. Done! I can't speak to diet or calories... just going to say it's quick, it's natural and a perfect snack.

  8. I just happen to have a hunk of Parmesan in the fridge right now, and plenty of popcorn too. I'm thinking this might be a fun evening snack.

It can't be too much of a diet buster.

1/4 cup kernels, enough olive oil to moisten, add your flavors and pop until done.. I will have to add the cheese next time, but after the popping! thanks for sharing. Thanks for your visit and for your kind comments, many blessings, xo marlis

  17. Sounds really delicious to me, too. Will have to give it a try. I was using microwave bags of popcorn but I think I want to go a more natural route from now on,either in a pot on the stove or in a brown bag like Marlis does. xo,

  20. I haven't tried popcorn with Parmesan yet. I have to admit, I'm a simple butter and salt girl. Next time I made popcorn, I'll have to try this on some first! I love Parm and this does sound tempting.
