How To Beat The After Christmas Blahs!

Hi everyone-happy Seasonal SundayYou know how folks say "the house looks so empty after I take down all of the Christmas decorations"? Well I decided last year that there's a lot of winter left after Christmas and now I put my snowmen out once the tree comes down. I love it!
I set these little silly guys around the livingroom and they make me happy.
Yes, they are all fishing... long story...
The only draw back so far is, we had record snow fall in Philly last year. It was like they were calling to the Mother Ship or something!!!
We'll see how it goes this year.

Have a happy day:@)

  1. Good idea for keeping some cheer in these first days of the new year! A dark, rainy New Year in Dixie...

  4. Hi Lynn!
I love the snowmen vignette! I am using snowmen throughout January as well.
Happy New Year to you and your family!!

  5. Like you and Diann I have a great Snowperson (and dog) collection. You have me worried though about putting too many of them out.
I do not really want to attract record snow this season.

  6. Lynn, That is a good idea. You're right, the house can look like it has a case of the doldrums after the Christmas decorations come down. My mantel is bare after removing the garland and poinsettias...time to give it a good dusting and figure out what I want to put up there now. Anyway, I want to say that I really do like your snowmen and I wish you a happy 2011! It has been a pleasure becoming one of your many blogging friends this past year.
    Blessings, Beth

  8. Love the snowguys Lynn...I have a few and they stay out thru January. If they start calling to the mother-ship and bring too much snow my way, into the plastic totes and into the basement they will go, lol!

    Blessings!

  9. Hi Lynn,
It's a good idea to keep the snowpeople out. They aren't ready to melt away just yet. Very cute vingette.

  10. Very cute! Great idea! I like the glazed finish on your snowmen. I'm setting out a new "winter" wreath soon. Oh no, I hope it won't call the mothership! LOL!

  11. I leave my snowmen and snowflakes up until spring. They're all winter related anyway and add some fun to the house decor after Christmas.
    Happy New Year.

  12. If you have a record snowfall this year, your neighbors may initiate an old-fashioned (or should I say vintage) lynching!

I just finished my January dining room tablescape in snowflake/snowmen. I will be sharing it this week.

I hope you are having a wonderful day. La

  15. Brilliant idea of the fishing snowmen hanging out at your house for the winter, and that gives me an idea of what to get next Christmas for my brother-in-law, the fisherman.

  17. I always go looking for snowmen AFTER Christmas and can't find any non-Christmasy looking ones. I'll have to start collecting them before Christmas next year. And yes, there is a whole lot of winter left.

  18. Love your cute snowmen! :) I just got Christmas decorations up, so they're staying for a while.

  20. Fishing snowmen? I want to hear the story!
I keep my snowmen out during January. It's fun to have a bit of white around. We certainly don't have it on the ground. LOL
Happy New Year, Lynn! ~ Sarah

  21. That is a great idea! Snow is a winter thing, not necessarily a Christmas thing. We don't have any snow at the moment, unlike this time last year.

  22. I keep the winter village out for a couple of weeks beyond Christmas. My contention is that it signifies winter as well as Christmas and therefore is more than appropriate.

  23. The house does look so bare after the Christmas decor is stored, doesn't it? It is important to do all that we can to put some cheer on winter. Looks like your fishing snowmen caught a whale of a storm! ;)

  27. Your snowmen are cute!!!
I am not sure what is happening this holiday season but I am not feeling the post chirstmas blues that I normally get. Maybe it is because things were so laid back this year.
I am looking forward to some good snow!!!!

  30. I'm still enjoying my Christmas decor....it didn't all get put up until a few days before Christmas! :) Actually, I spent NYEve playing Christmas music, too. This year, it just seemed that I was so busy with everything else, the decor, etc. didn't happen until very late. I'm sure it will be down soon. . . but probably not today!

I love your Mr. and Mrs. Claus s/p's!! Great finds!

    Happy New Year!!! dana
