Sometimes Mother Nature offers the neatest surprises! A clump of flowers started growing right in the middle of my strawberry garden this year. At first I thought they were zinnias, but no...
Sunflowers!
Ya gotta love that!
Happy
Fertilizer Friday, please stop over to see what everyone else is talking about.
I do! I love it. I don't have enough full sun for sunflowers. You have them popping up where you least expect them!
ReplyDeleteSo bright and cheery! Have a wonderful weekend
ReplyDeleteHow pretty. Sunflowers just make you smile. They have so many pretty varieties anymore too but the yellow ones are so cheery.
ReplyDeleteOh, they are so pretty. I love sunflowers and wish I had some in my garden this year.
ReplyDeleteSunflowers are so pretty and happy. In mythology, a girl was so in love with Apollo (the sun) that she stared at him all day. So the gods felt sorry for her and changed her into a sunflower. :)

What a great surprise!
ReplyDeleteI love rogue flowers! And now I am wondering if this could explain the unidentified seedlings in my chard patch. I have been waiting to identify them before I decide what to do with them. I found a morning glory growing in my potatoes and transplanted it. When I took horticulture, we were taught that a weed was any plant that was growing where it did not belong, so by there definition a rose was a weed if it was growing in a wheat field. But I have never been able to abide by that definition! :D
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love serendipity? I'm always amazed at how giant sunflower plants get. Enjoy these! ~ sarah
