Football Decoration for Cakes

I had a little fun trying to decorate a cake for the beginning of football season, but things didn't go quite as smoothly as envisioned... I cut the shape out of cardboard and laid it on the icing so I could fill it with jimmies, when I lifted the cardboard, I lifted off some of the icing too-oops. Seems like a cookie cutter would work best for this method, you can fill the center with sprinkles and then simply lift it off cleanly.
I used chocolate jimmies and a pack of white candy decorator balls from Walmart (also sold in the craft stores).

Have a sticky sweet happy day:@)

  2. Hurray for football season, love your pearl candy laces Lynn! I'm sure you scored a touchdown with your cake even if there was a holding penalty with the cardboard on your frosting :)
