Planter Purging

Well folks, with the exception of cherry tomatoes the first wave of planter goodies is done. The cukes were looking sad and not producing any more and I just had to give up any hope of getting jalapenos (luckily bags full are still $1.25 at the produce store:@) So I cleaned it out and I'll be looking for some stringless pole green bean seeds on Saturday, hopefully they'll have enough time to mature, we will find out.
Planter Garden Experiment 2014

I also moved the last scrawny zucchini plant into the planter, just curious to see if it grows any better in there.
This was a fun, manageable little project and I've enjoyed watching everything grow this summer.
Have a happy day:@)

  1. Looks like a fun idea and one I could do as I have a small garden. Have a great weekend.

  2. Our large garden, despite all our fort knox creations, was invaded by a very fat groundhog. So disappointing. Any hopes of us having our pumpkins are gone now. Can you believe we are almost to August?

  5. Wonderful! I think I'm going to have to do some container gardening next year. My poor Early Girl tomatoes are getting blight. :-(

  6. You have a great kitchen garden. I think the idea started with George Washington at Mt. Vernon. At least, that's what he said.

  9. I'd love to try tomatoes in a planter next summer. I will have to put myself on a watering regimen, so I don't kill them all :)

  10. I love growing veggies in containers this summer! Picking my first cherry tomatoes, cukes and zucchini won't be too far behind. Just an FYI, zucchini plants get REALLY big. I have two plants by themselves in a huge container and they are already filling it up.

  12. I can't believe you have gotten so much from that one pot garden!! I can't even grow one lousy zucchini, the vegetable that everybody can grow!! I bet your fresh green beans will be tasty!
