Grilled Old Bay Potato Wedges

If I'm firing up the grill I like to try to cook as many things on it as I can and I'm always looking for fun side dishes. This recipe for Grilled Old Bay Potato Wedges is from Bobby Flay and I couldn't wait to try them! Potatoes and Old Bay are perfect together and I even recommend an additional sprinkling once off the grill:@) This is a nice easy side dish that would be perfect with steak!

Now, I'm certainly not the person to question the grilling prowess of Bobby Flay, but I found that just sprinkling the spices on the oiled potatoes made the spices burn on the grill (my first batch pictured below)... So I mixed the Old Bay with the olive oil, that worked better.

Grilled Old Bay Potato Wedges-adapted from Bobby Flay/Food Network
For every two medium size russet potatoes:
1 Tblsp olive oil
healthy 1 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
Old Bay for sprinkling on before serving
  1. Mix oil and Old Bay and set aside (I use a pie plate).
  2. Clean potatoes well, do not peel. Add potatoes to boiling water (enough to cover them) and set a timer for 15 minutes.
  3. After 15 minutes remove them from the pot and allow to cool enough to handle.
  4. Cut into 6-8 wedges depending on how big they are.
  5. Dip potatoes into the oil to completely cover the potatoes.
  6. Grill over medium-hot heat until you get pretty grill marks and the potatoes are completely cooked through. Approximately 10-15 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle with additional Old Bay for serving if desired-I desired:@)
Eat well and have a happy day!

  2. Yep. We olive oil almost all forms of potatoes and veggies when we are grilling them. I would think that Bobby should have added the oil to his recipe... you are right to question his grilling prowess. LOL

  3. What...no cayenne pepper added? LOL They look DELICIOUS, Lynn & I think I'd add a sprinkle of garlic powder, too. Smart thinking to toss with the olive oil first. I shall do that, too. In fact, if it weren't POURING DOWN RAIN today, I'd be making these for supper.
    Now you've made me hungry!
