Bacon Dill Cheese Ball

Dill is one of my favorite herbs and it's not a flavor you find in a lot of appy's, so I think this Bacon Dill Cheese Ball would be something really different to bring to a party! This is one of those cheese balls that can be shaped like a pine cone and studded with sliced almonds if you'd like... I had to chuckle because the person that wrote the recipe said "while impressive, that's a pain in the patootie", I'll let you make that determination for yourself:@)
Leftovers are great on a bagel and this recipe can easily be cut in half.
Don't hesitate to give it a try folks, it's good stuff!

Bacon Dill Cheese Ball-from food.com
1 (8oz) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 C mayonnaise
6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled-you know you want to add more:@)
1 green onion, chopped-I used 1 Tblsp finely minced yellow onion
1 Tblsp fresh dill-I used 1 tsp dried dill weed
1/8 tsp fresh ground black pepper
sliced almonds-optional-if decorating like a pine cone
  1. Mix cream cheese and mayo together.
  2. Add everything else, mix well.
  3. Shape as you wish (ball, pine cone, spread into a bowl, etc.), cover and chill overnight.
  4. Serve with crackers.
Eat well and have a happy day!

  1. I have not had breakfast yet although it is nearly 10:45 am and I am so hungry. I could dive into that bacon dill cheese ball right now and finish it off. Of course I would feel oh so guilty later on, but what a way to go! Thanks for the yummy recipe!

  9. It sounds wonderful, Lynn, and I love your presentation in your pretty milk glass dish. I have made a pinecone cheeseball, and I really don't mind it at all. I must like tedious work! LOL. xo
