Salmon Stuffed Jalapenos? Yea, don't do that...

I've always been fond of adding peppers to my salmon cakes so I decided to add salmon to my peppers! On the Fab-Fair-Fail Scale this was leaning heavily towards Fail... Why am I telling you about it?
Because I got a decent pic:@) and I have a couple questions...
I thought these clam shell dishes would be fun for Clams Casino and grabbed them for 25¢ each,
but never put them in the oven because I didn't know if they were oven safe.
I just noticed some faint letters on the bottom
BMT Heat Resistant Veritas USA, sounds like they are oven safe?
Anyone know about them?
Even more importantly, anyone have a good recipe for Clams Casino Dip?
I'd like to find one with lots of bacon:@)

 Have a happy day!

  1. Oh too bad. Usually your stuffed jalapenos are a big hit. We are loving your pickled jalapeno recipe. They are hot but in a good way.

  2. What was wrong with 'em???..Everything you do is so good,I can't imagine this to be a fail!!..blame it on Earl....eat mo' bacon!!!

Clams Casino Dip?...4 cans minced or chopped clams packed in clam juice (be careful, not all are packed in juice)
1 cup celery, diced shopping list
    1 small sweet onion, chopped
8 ounces bacon, cooked and crumbled (I WOULD PROBABLE USE 16 OUNCES-SORRY EARL)
    4 tablespoons butter
    1 sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed
1 small green bell pepper, chopped (YOU COULD PROBABLE THROW IN SOME JALAPENO)

  4. I'm not sure about those dishes for the oven, but I did find a clams casino dip!
    1/2 tablespoon butter
6-8 strips bacon, cut in small pieces
    1 jalapeno, seeded, minced
1/2 cup small diced red bell pepper
    1/3 cup small diced celery
    2 cloves minced garlic
1/4 cup minced green onions, save tops for garnish
1 pound cream cheese, room temperature
2 (6.5 ounce) cans minced clams, juice from one can reserved
    1/2 lemon, juiced
    hot sauce to taste
freshly ground black pepper to taste
    Preparation:

Crisp up the bacon in the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain the fat, and reserve the bacon. Place the pan back on the heat and add the jalapeno, bell pepper, celery, garlic, and green onions. Cook stirring for 2 minutes, then pour in the juice from one can of clams. Turn heat to high, and cook until almost all the liquid is reduced.

  7. Hhaaahahhhaaa...you are sooo funny, Lynn.
I love that you posted your good photos, even tho the recipe wasn't very good. Since I "don't do fish" I wouldn't have liked them anyway. :))
O, and I know nothing about your dishes here.

  10. LOL!! Your pics are great, but sorry the recipe was a bomb! I don't know about the heat-safe issue, but I would assume it would be okay. Let us know. The dishes are cute, though!

I make baked clams, but not dip. Great buy on the shell dishes.
