Bacon-Jalapeno Dip

There is a little booklet inside the Jan/Feb issue of Food Network Magazine titled 50 Super Bowl Snacks... Oh yea, I guess they figure everyone will be done with their New Year's diet resolutions by then:@)
I say, let's whip this up for the playoffs!
Even if your team isn't in them...*sniff*
Not super model photo worthy, but boy is it good!
The jalapeno and bacon are great together.
Bacon-Jalapeno Dip
8 oz cream cheese
2 C cheddar, shredded
1/2 C sour cream
1/4 C milk
4 slices bacon, cooked and chopped (go ahead, add more-you know you want to!)
1 Tblsp bacon drippings
1 tsp white wine vinegar
2 jalapenos, thinly sliced
Breadcrumbs (preferably Panko) mixed with some butter
-Mix all but breadcrumbs, spread in a baking dish and top with buttered breadcrumbs.
-Bake at 350 until golden and bubbly, approx 30 minutes.
-I made half the recipe and used a 5" ramekin.
Have a happy day:@)

  17. Lynn your dip looks GREAT! I'm not a big football fan so to me the best thing about the Super Bowl is the snacks & the commercials :)

  22. "they figure everyone will be done with their New Year's diet resolutions by then" Yep...done already! LOL

It looks yummy & I could control the heat by reducing (or eliminating) the jalapenos, 'cus I'm a wimp if you remember.
    Thanks for sharing!

  27. Lynn~

Well...I made this dip yesterday. My son just left to drive back to college and took the small amount that was leftover. I added a few more ingredients and some serious jalapeno heat. It was soooo good! We love jalapenos. I'm so glad you shared. We were so full from eating this that we had no room for our dinner! Tasted even better today. I may have licked the spoon when I was making a "to go" box for my son. ;) Thanks!
