Life's little challenges...

So, how was your week?
I keep trying to be kinda up-beat and casually refer to this winter as... challenging. Really, I'm trying...
I started a new job on Monday during a 9" snowstorm, oh yea, great fun and a lovely commute. Then just for variety, on Wednesday we had an ice storm, luckily the roads were fairly clear by rush hour in the morning but I lost electricity at home and it didn't come back on until late Friday night. I am truly grateful it's back on, others in the area won't have electric until later in the week.

Note to Mother Nature: You are just being a bully this year and if you're listening, you win, go ahead and take my lunch money! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to find a nice little 'countdown to spring' widget for my sidebar:@)

To my Bloggy Buddies, I hope to have something more interesting to post about soon.
Have a happy day!

  2. I really hope it improves for you soon. I know ice storms are miserable and it's awful to be without power. Believe it or not, it's snowing as far south as Arkansas. Just be glad you aren't there in the snow & ice. The South does not "do snow" and drive like crazy people. Take care Lynn. I'm praying for a very warm spring for you.

  3. I thought you might be without electricity. I've been in that situation and it is not good! I've been in for over a week now. How is it possible that I'm coming down with a cold? The Baker doesn't have a cold and no one else has been in the house for over a week. Oh well, I'll just stay in and nurse it. Keep safe and warm.

    Best,
    Bonnie

  6. Oh that sign says it all.! Our schools were closed for 4 days this week, although the kids were sledding all over the city, it couldn't wipe out their fun. I can remember as a girl going to school in deep snow and don't remember it being closed so much.

  7. Oh Lynn, what a week you've had! I'm so sorry you lost power for so long -- that truly is the pits. Congratulations on starting a new job; I hope it works out well for you!

I love the funny sign; I imagine lots of people are feeling that way right about now. :) I hope you have a good weekend, Lynn!

  8. I was wondering if you were impacted by the snow and ice in and around Philly. You are lucky if you have power and heat. What a winter this has been!

  9. Ice storms are really scary. I'm glad you stayed safe. And going without power for more than a few hours would make me go insane.

Stay warm and dry and good luck with the new job. Love that sign!

    XO,
    Jane

  13. It's been a bit of a challenge this Winter hasn't it. Living in Colorado, we're used t the snow, but we wouldn't know how to act if there was much ice. C'mon Spring. :)

  14. Oh, sugar, I am so sorry! I hate that winter has been so rough on so many people. We are colder than usual, but I can't complain. It had, however, been raining for days. We might need to. Hold an ark!

    Come on, spring!

  16. Amen! I totally feel your pain. My hubby was out of work for a small injury and his first day back: major snowstorm. Sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you. =)

  18. The weather this winter is something else. Freezing rain is now coming down on our 10 inches of snow. Its' a mess.

  19. I have a feeling that spring will be all so much sweeter for you this year! That's the upside :)

  20. Lynn, So glad your power is back on! I can't believe the weather you guys and the folks in the midwest have had. It seems every kind of weather has become more extreme. After our flooding and excessive rain last spring, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned around and we had drought conditions this year. Hope your new job turns out much better than the forecast :)

  21. It has been a really hard winter. On the news, it was reported that in West Michigan we've only had 11 days without snow since December 1st. In January, it snowed everyday but three days. Come on SPRING!
