Dog Days of Summer

It's been a while since I've joined Mizz Jenny's Saturday Centus, this week the challenge was to write a poem using up to 100 words around this pic and the prompt is Dog Days of Summer. I like it:@)
Dog Days of Summer
The family reunion is real nice,
But still one has to wonder...
Who set the schedule to coincide,
With the dog days of summer?
Between the heat and fetching,
I am running hither and yonder.
This old dog is tuckered out,
And the kids are calling me... bummer.

Have a happy (and cool:@) day!

I'm joining:
Seasonal Sunday

  2. Cute poem... and that's exactly why I never attend family reunions in Iowa because they always have them in July or August. UGH. They might talk me into going if it were in October.

  15. Awwwww, I thought that was cute. Today was terrible with heat in Rhode Island. Hope it don't last or at least I hope this is the two weeks we get every year, so we can just get over with it. Can't believe it is August already. Wow, time flies and soon it is back to school for me. Managing work and school, ugh, I am not looking forward to that at all!

And I so agree with you! Why can't people schedule events in the fall when it's not so ugly out!
