Orange You Glad You Came!

Hey everyone! I'm going to try joining some new (to me) memes and shake things up a bit here in 2011! I'm very new to Jenny Matlock's blog, but when I saw this picture and the Saturday Centus challenge to write something about it, well-I'm in:@) I'm also joining my friend the Tablescaper for Seasonal Sunday!
Orange You Glad You Came!
The snow birds flocked to Florida,
as soon as the holidays were done.
They flew, drove and commuted
one by one.

Take a trip to Florida,
Back home it's dreary and cold.
Let's escape for a few months,
to where the sun is bold.

Made it to the condo,
Settled in for a good night's sleep.
Woke up the next morning to this...
Hey, what the *bleep*!!!

Have a happy day:@)

  3. As a snowbird you have to let me copy this and send to my two sons. They will really get a kick out of it. If it was a button I'd have it on the side of my blog. Too cute.

  4. LOL...very funny Lynn.

I grew up in Southern CA and remember the panic that the forcast of frost put into the hearts of the citrus growers. Looks like higher orange juice prices.

    Blessings!

  10. That is very good! I like Ms.Jenny's blog. I enjoy the alphabet thursdays, as that's where I get creative with my writing. I haven't done any of her others, yet. I see you have quite a knack for writing, so her Meme's will be quite fun for you. Great post! Oh, and thanks for moving over with me! :))

  11. Funny, Lynn, I guess I would be annoyed to spend money to have the same cold weather we are having!
I used to do Jenny's thing, had to quit.
You stay safe there, no slipping around!
Are you ready for some football? I am not, and I
    can't get out of here!

  20. Lol. Such a funny idea, thanks for the smiles.

  21. I am smiling! Citrus is at its peak here in Florida during the Winter. In order to protect he citrus crop they had to spray water to form ice since the temps were dipping below freezing... The snow birds have not been as happy, only that it has not snowed.

Living in North Florida there is an actual change of seasons. The winters are cold, and it can be nasty cold but the conditions never seem to be quite right for snow.

  26. "Too Cute Lynn"!!! My Folks AND In-laws all retired to Florida from Connecticut 35years ago, AND I have been comparing weather conditions ever since! AND I've been there and had to wear my winter cloths AND coat!!! In 78 I went down and it was SO COLD!!! We were escaping OUR BIGGEST BLIZZARD but The temp in Disney was 28degrees...They had to close down outdoor activities AND the trams could NOT RUN because the wind chill on them was below zero!!! THAT is a WONDERFUL PICTURE you have with the snow on the orange, You NEED to make a Florida Christmas Card out of it!!!!!!!!!
    Warm Winter Hugs to you,
    Donna
