Graveyard Bean Dip

As soon as I saw this super fast, really cool Graveyard Bean Dip idea at bloggy buddy Jacqueline's I added it to our Sunday dinner. Her ghosts were so cute, my ghosts turned out a little sad looking... too much haunting this close to Halloween I guess:@) I do know some sour creams are thicker than others, so you might want to keep that in mind. I used a food writer pen for the lettering and while it worked great for the tombstones, I couldn't get it to leave a mark for the ghost eyes. Actually, I might try to cut a ghost shape out of a slice of cheddar the next time, a small cookie cutter would work great! And I'm thinking you could use a sharpie for the tombstones if you tell folks not to eat them.
This is basically a deconstructed Mexican Seven Layer Dip,
so add whatever your crew likes and serve with tortilla chips or Fritos.

Graveyard Dip:
  1. Refried beans-enough to cover the bottom of your serving dish, or enough for your party (can make it with one 15 oz can, Jacqueline used several cans and a disposable 9x13 pan).
  2. Taco seasoning-mix into beans, add to taste.
  3. Spread beans onto bottom of serving dish.
  4. Create a path, I used chopped black olives, Jacqueline used crushed Goldfish crackers, can use shredded cheese.
  5. Add shredded lettuce bushes or grass.
  6. Pipe in some sour cream ghosts, or create them from a block of cheese. I seriously have to make another one of these to try some different decorating ideas:@).
  7. My tombstone's are flour tortillas, cut shapes, spray with cooking spray and bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. Draw on names and edges, be creative with the names, that's part of the giggles...
  8. Make it yours, add whatever sounds like yummy spooky fun!
  9. Serve with tortilla chips and/or Fritos (ok, maybe celery sticks too...).
Haunt up a special treat and have a happy day:@)
