Team Color Marshmallows!

I saw marshmallows dipped in orange and then yellow to mimic candy corn all over the net and thought it was a fun idea. Since football season is starting I decided it would also work well with team colors! It's especially great for those teams with brighter colors, but don't shy away if black is a part your uniform, they do make black candy melts and I used colored sugar here.

Show your colors and treat your crowd to something sweet while at it!
You'll need:
Marshmallows
Paper candy sticks or wooden skewers
Candy melts
Food coloring gel-optional
Candy sprinkles/colored sugar-optional
  1. Melt the candy melts in microwave safe bowl and stir in food coloring gel to achieve desired color if needed.
  2. Dip Marshmallow into first candy color, if using white don't cover the marshmallow all the way, only dip 1/2 or 2/3 of it. Remove from candy melt and let the excess drip off.
  3. Note: I chose to use ramekins for the candy and held the marshmallow with my fingers and dipped them, adding the stick after they dried. This worked well because I did not completely cover the marshmallow.
  4. Place on wax/parchment paper/silicone and allow to dry for a couple minutes.
  5. Dip marshmallow into each additional color, letting dry between colors. I'm sure you get the idea.
  6. If not using all candy melts you'll have to dip the marshmallow with wet candy coating into the sprinkles/colored sugar before it hardens.
  7. Allow to set up on wax/parchment paper/silicone liner. Once dry, add stick, twisting while inserting, trying to not push all the way through the marshmallow. Gently lift off paper/silicone by nudging the marshmallow with your fingers, not by pulling on the stick. Thrifty tip: If you don't have paper candy sticks you can cut wooden shish-ka-bob skewers in half (remove the point too). An added bonus, they are much cheaper.
  8. Serve and enjoy.
My biggest tip would be, get the kids involved! It's a great messy, sticky project:@)

  2. What team is that? I think I'll just go for the generic chocolate so as not to offend any sports fans!!
